Shimla the 26th of August : Himachal Pradesh Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj visited railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi on Friday and asked for his help to speed up rail projects in the state.Minister said that certain of the development initiatives in Shimla town will be completed on railway land.
The ambitious idea of the construction of a 230-metre flyover in front of the Assembly to ease the traffic in Shimla.
Bhardwaj claimed that the efforts were being made to clean up Shimla and, under the smart city initiative, more than 12 kilometers of roadway has been widening, but there is no room for road widening that is in opposition to the Assembly and, consequently the flyover was considered.
In his last meeting with the Railway Minister, a lengthy discussion was held about this issue, he added.
Thanking the Railway Minister for his quick intervention Bhardwaj claimed that the Railway team had inspected the site prior to the time he returned to Shimla from Delhi.
Bhardwaj has also informed Vaishnaw that the General Arrangement Drawing (GAD) related to the bridge over-passage at Totu was sent to the Northern Railway office in Ambala.
