Chennai 24 Aug : The shooting of Shankar’s legendary director Shankar’s long-awaited “Indian 2,” starring Tamil star Kamal Haasan in the lead will begin on Wednesday in the city, with Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies joining in as one of the producers together with Lyca Productions.Kamal Haasan announced the resumption of the project, which was put on hold two and one-half years ago as a result of an incident that killed three dead.
He wrote: “Filming for ‘Indian 2 starting in September.We wish everyone involved Shankar Shanmugham, Subaskaran, Lyca Productions and everyone else involved a safe journey.Welcom aboard thambi Udhayanidhi Stalin.”
While filming will resume on Wednesday, Kamal will join the sets only after the first week of September.
Udhayanidhi Stalin and his Red Giant Movies, for their part posted on Twitter” “He returns! Presenting Ulaganayagan Kamal Hasan and Shankar Shanmugham’s “Indian 2′.”
The film’s production had come to a to a halt after an accident during filming that caused three deaths and more than 10 wounded.
The accident left everyone in the accident shook with Shankar, Lyca and Kamal Haasan announcing financial aid to the families of the victims killed in the incident.
When attempts to restart the shooting were attempted, Covid struck and the project was put on hold.
In addition there were disputes between the actor, director and producers.
Now all disagreements of opinions seem to be resolved and shooting will begin on Wednesday.
