New Delhi, Aug 23 : Microsoft on Tuesday collaborated with non-profit organization EnAble India to empower persons with disabilities (PwDs) by involving more than 100 organizations.The initiative, dubbed ‘Inclusion to Action’, aims to bring more than 100 organizations across manufacturing, financial services retail, and tech sectors to collaborate in the field of tech-related mentorship, training and internship programs in order to “unlock the doors to 100,000 possibilities” for PwDs.
“This collaboration is the first step of an ongoing effort to collaborate with many stakeholders across the industry as well as experts, advocates as well as policymakers and those in the disability sector to improve and improve opportunities for people with disabilities.” stated Anant Maheshwari President of Microsoft India.Microsoft India.
The technical skills programs are designed to increase the understanding of digital accessibility , which can bring about a change in culture as organizations are increasingly forming their hybrid strategies for work.
The company stated that an greater proportion of PwDs will result in inclusive product development that will benefit technology users with disabilities.
Additionally, people with disabilities are able to access education programs on the latest workplace tools for greater productivity and efficient collaboration.
“There is a pressing need to open doors for those with disabilities who’s social circles are ten percent of those of non-disabledpeople,” stated Dipesh Sutariya, Co-Founderof Enable India.
EnAble India has catered to the requirements of 19 disabled people so far and has impacted more than 325,000 people, including those with disabilities as well as their family members in 28 states as well as seven union territories in the country.
