Russian region declares emergency fire in the midst of smoke-filled skies Moscow

Moscow 23 August : A state of emergency was declared in the Russian region of Ryazan which is located around 200 km south-east of Moscow because of widespread forest fires.
The fires affected an area of more than 9,000 hectares, Russian agencies reported on Monday, citing aerial images of the Forestry Agency.

Acrid smoke is reaching Moscow in the past few days, reducing visibility as reported by the news agency dpa.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reportedly sent 9,000 relief workers with more than 2,300 vehicles and heavy equipment from Moscow to the region devastated by fire to help local forces.

Firefighting helicopters and aircrafts were also used.

The smoke will be visible in Moscow up to the close of the week of work forecast meteorologists.

Temperatures with between 30 and 33 degrees Celsius is also anticipated in Moscow.Russian capital at the very least until Thursday.
