Baghdad 22 Aug : Four bodies were retrieved from the rubble of an landslide at the site of a Shia shrine in Karbala, which is the sacred Shia city of Karbala, Iraqi authorities confirmed.Rescue teams continued to search for those believed to be buried under the rubble of an earthen mound that is adjacent to the shrine according to the Iraqi Civil Defence Directorate in a statement issued on Sunday.
The holy site of Qattarat al-Imam Ali, located close to 110 kilometers south of Baghdad, Iraqi capital Baghdad it collapsed on the weekend because of “moisture saturation” according to the report.
One of those rescued was “two children and one boy” who were in good health and were taken to hospitals in Karbala according to the statement.
A separate statement from the Iraqi Health Ministry said that six people with various injuries were taken care of, Xinhua news agency reported.
