Party sources claimed that Vijay Rupani is not in the good books of the party’s national leadership since the council of ministers under his direction was unable to produce results and meet the expectations of the public. After resigning, he has hardly been seen out and about for the party.

He is restricted to state-level meetings or occasions in Rajkot.

Sources also say Rupani and his members are being marginalized by the new state unit’s leadership, which is causing a rift between Rupani and the state unit’s president C.R.Patil.

In a separate political new development, Congress party’s former MLA Mahendrasinh Baraiya is set to join the BJP on Monday. There are reports of at least a dozen current MLAs switching to BJP.
