Bengaluru, Aug 17 : Former Karnataka Chief Minister and veteran BJP leader B.S.Yediyurappa who was appointed on Wednesday as a member of the BJP’s Parliamentary Board and Central Election Committee He has said he will aid in helping the BJP keep the power in Karnataka’s state. “I will invest in all of my efforts to help strengthen the party in south India,” he said.
Speaking to the media following the announcement, Yediyurappa said, “I will not allow any other party gain the power table in Karnataka where the BJP will be able to win over 140 seats.We will embark on State-wide trips under the direction of the party headed by the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai who is doing a great job.”
“The party has handed me a huge responsibility.I never expected any kind of position.
After quitting the office of Chief Minister, I decided to help bring BJP back into power,” he said.
“I accept with humility the new responsibility given to me by the party.I am the model that the common person who’s actively involved is never sacked by the BJP.I’ve always believed that you shouldn’t quit in politics.This is now confirmed by the party’s leaders,” Yediyurappa said.
Bommai has expressed joy over the selection of his predecessor Yediyurappa as a member of the BJP’s Parliamentary Board.
The announcement was made shortly after.made the Chief Minister contacted Yediyurappa and thanked him on his new position as BJP the Parliamentary Board member.
“I am thankful to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President J.P Nadda for nominating him (Yediyurappa) for the prestigious job,” Bommai said.
