Mumbai 17 August : Hindi cinema of recent times appears to be in trouble since Bollywood’s biggest-ticket films like ‘Samrat Prathviraj and ‘Shamshera “Laal Singh Chaddha and “Raksha Bandhan” have failed to please the public.However, a tiny collection of films starring stars like Amitabh Bachchan Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ajay Devgn, Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor, Aliabhatt and Kriti Sanon are scheduled to release in the coming months.
The million-dollar question that is looming over the eyes of distributors is: will these films bring back the era of “achche din” for Bollywood?
The first major film that is scheduled to release on September 9, will be Ayan Mukerji’s trilogy ‘Brahmastra- Part One – Shiva which stars newlywed couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt together with Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna.The film is set to hit the theaters on September 9.
“Brahmastra” is a trilogy film franchise that marks the starting point of the first Indian original universe known as the Astraverse.It is a fresh, original cinematic universe based on deep-rooted ideas and stories in Indian mythology, but set in the contemporary world.
In a discussion with IANS, Ayan had earlier stated that with “Brahmastra” he has invested an enormous amount of effort in the film that he has an “very confident and calm in the film”.
The next in the line next is Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s “Vikram Vedha Neo-noir action thriller that is an adaptation of the Tamil popular film that was directed by Pushkar and Gayathri who are also producing the Hindi remake.
It is scheduled to release on September 30th, the film will tell the story of an imposing police officer who decides to find a dangerous criminal.The film also stars Radhika Apte in an important role.
On the 7th of October, Amitabh Bachchan, Rashmika Mandanna and Neena Gupta’s’Goodbye’ movie will be in theatres to be released.The film is described as a heartwarming tale about life, family, and relationships.
After having given three duds like ‘Bachchhan Pandey’and ‘Samrat Prithviraj and ‘Raksha Bhanhan”, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is in the big screen again with “Ram Setu,” which will be competing with Ajay Devgn’s ‘Thank You at the box office.Both films have been scheduled for an Diwali release on the 24th of October.
“Ram Setu” is an action-adventure-drama that tells a tale rooted in Indian historical and cultural heritage.”Thank God,” that also features Sidharth Malhotra as well as Rakul Preet Singh is an esoteric plotline that is based on Sidharth’s tragic death.
Ajay is reportedly acting as the character of the God of Death, “Yamraj,” in the film.The plot of the film is expected to be driven by the wit and humour between Ajay and Sidharth.
Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and Tabu are ready to bring the thrilling mystery back to the screen following the 2015 film ‘Drishyam’ with “Drishyam 2,” the remake of the Mohanlal-starrer of the same title.Actor Akshaye Khanna is also part of the cast of the cult thriller.
“Drishyam” chronicled the story of a man of the family Vijay Salgaonkar, who leaves no step unturned to protect his family members following an incident that was tragically involving his daughter’s elder sister, which put them under police’s scrutiny.The sequel of the crime thriller is scheduled to be released on November 18.
The Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon-led ‘Bhediya’ movie is ready to hit the screen on the 25th of November.The horror-comedy is directed and written by Amar Kaushik and written by Niren Bhatt, who is best known for her work on the long-running television show ‘Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma’.”Bhediya” is the third film in producer Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe following “Roohi” and “Stree.” which both feature Rajkummar Rao in the lead.
Ayushmann’s’An Actor Hero is the film that premiered in December.It is billed as a sleek action film with sprinkles of humor”An Action Hero” is a story of an artist’s travels from the back to in the front of the camera.
After failing in May with “JayeshbhaiJordaar,” Bollywood’s livewire star Ranveer Singh is back on the silver screen with Rohit Shetty’s “Cirkus”.
The film will be released on Christmas, ‘Cirkus’ which is a reworking of Shakespeare’s comedy The Comedy of Errors’, is scheduled to premiere on December 23rd.
The big-budget film features Ranveer, Pooja Hegde, Jaqueline Fernandez Varun Sharma, and many more famous stars from Bollywood.
The film that will close the curtains for 2022, will be the cult Salman Khan’s “Kabhi Eid Diwali’ which is an all-family drama.
The movie, which features Pooja Hegde Venkatesh Shehnaaz Gil and Raghav Juyal among others stars, will be dazzling the screen on December 30.
