KL Rahul begins training for Zimbabwe ODIs

Harare 17 August : India’s captain for the Zimbabwe ODIs KL Rahul, has started preparations for the forthcoming series that starts on Thursday.
The first ODI game between India and Zimbabwe will be played on Thursday in Harare.

Rahul, who is preparing to come back from a long-term injury on Wednesday posted a photo on the Koo app where he is seen sharpening his technique ahead of the match’s opening.

In another photo, Team India can be seen in a discussion with the coach while the guests get ready to take on Zimbabwe.

Vice captain of India Shikhar Dhawan, who is returning to Zimbabwe after nine years, is urging the team not to take Zimbabwe for granted.

“I’m certain they’re playing decent cricket.It’s good for usas it keeps us in the loop.We shouldn’t take things lightly or for granted.We’re here to compete against a strong team.It’s all about the procedure,” Dhawan said in the press conference before the match.

In the meantime, the All-India Senior Selection Committee named Shahbaz Ahmed as the replacement for Washington Sundar for the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe.

Washington Sundar injured his shoulder during in a County game in England.He is out of the Zimbabwe tour.

The tour of India of Zimbabwe will begin on Thursday and continue until August 22.The tour will comprise of three ODIs.
