New Delhi, Aug 17 : Samsung has witnessed an overwhelming demand for its 4th generation of foldables in India and has registered more than 50k (5 million) pre-bookings for Galaxy Fold4 and Galaxy Flip4, Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President and Director of MX sales for Samsung India, said on Wednesday.The record number of pre-bookings took place in less than 12 hours during Day 1 on the 16th of August.
“Samsung is aiming to market 1.5 times more foldable phones in the coming year.We are certain of hitting our goal due to the fact that the foldable phones that are coming out come with massive improvements compared to last year’s models,” Pullan told IANS.
He said he attributed the massive pre-booking performance to the firm’s plan to increase the possibility of folding in India the present time.
In order to offer Fold4 as well as Flip4, Samsung has expanded its retail network, bringing the top-of-the-line phones to more than 10,000 cities including Tier 2 towns, and further.
This is more than double the number of retail stores in comparison to last year’s numbers for the phones that fold up as per Pullan.
Samsung has also deployed more than 12,000 test devices of Fold4 as well as Flip4 in India so that users get a fantastic experiences with these devices prior to finalizing their purchase.
“The Fold4 is the most powerful PC in your pocket with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 processor and a top-of-the-line camera with 50MP.The Flip4 is the ideal device for teens who want to express their creativity with the Flex camera.” Pullan noted.
Samsung was the top smartphone in the market with 22 percent market share in the initial six months of the year.
The Galaxy Z Flip4 is available in Bora Purple, Graphite and Pink Gold colors, Galaxy Z Flip4 is priced at Rs 89999 for the 8GB+128GB model and Rs 94999 for the variant with 8GB+256GB.
The “Bespoke Edition which comes with frames and glass colours is available through Samsung Live and Samsung Exclusive Stores for Rs 97,999, Samsung stated in an announcement.
The Galaxy Z Fold4 is available in Graygreen, Beige and Phantom Black colours, Galaxy Z Fold4 is priced at Rs 154,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant , and Rs 164,999 for the 12GB+512GB variant.
Consumers can also purchase a 12GB+1TB version exclusively via Samsung Live and Samsung Exclusive Stores for Rs 184,999.
