New Delhi, Aug 17 : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was questioned by Congress head K.C.Venugopal in the connection with the allegations of sexual abuse of the main suspect in the 2012 Solar scam case of Kerala.According to CBI sources According to the CBI sources, the Congress leader was questioned this week.
The probe agency has not made an public statement in this regards.
The main suspect, who is accused of cheating innocent citizens by promising solar solutions and shares in solar energy projects in 2013 wrote to the most senior Kerala police officer claiming that she was sexually exploited by her then MLA and MP Hibi Eden, K.C.Venugopal, former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, former minister A.P.Anil Kumar, Congress MP Adoor Prakash, and BJP leader A.P.Abdullah Kutty.
Initially an investigation in this area was filed with the police in the area, and later on , the CBI began the investigation in August 2021 following the advice of the state government.The complainant had written a letter to Chief Minister, stating that the local police were not able to conduct an impartial investigation, and the case was transferred to the CBI.
The CBI had recorded the statements of the complainant in Delhi office.
