Mumbai 12 August : Actress Amit Sadh’s short film ‘Ghuspaith’ Beyond Borders” honors photography journalists of all over the world.Amit Sadh says “When Mihir came with the story, I realized that we were making a short film in honor of photographers of all over the globe, including Danish Hussain who was killed by the Talibanis in Afghanistan while he was reporting.
“I was aware of Danish from the beginning and I believe it’s one of the most brave and courageous of all those who write about crimes and war.It requires a lot of courage to be in the kind of an environment where bombs are exploding and bullets are firing from all directions.” he added.
Directed and written by Mihir K.Lath, ‘Ghuspaith’ .’ is film that is set on the boundary between India and Bangladesh. In a country devastated by militancy and a raging, devastating refugee crisis, the worth of human life is an issue that many struggle to determine.
Amit told me: “As an actor, it’s a wonderful opportunity and honor to explore and create this short film.Mihir appeared well-prepared and full of enthusiasm. The way he was preparing and planned his actions looked like we were going to create something wonderful.”
“Honestly I am satisfied and content that I created “Ghuspaith” with Mihir and, now that it’s coming out, we’re planning to go to Sundance Film Festival and show it to the public,” Amit adds.
Mihir was drawn to tell this story in an effort to provide an understanding of humanity of an intricate global issue of the refugee crisis.
He decided to tell the story through the lens of the photojournalist Manav (portrayed by Amit Sadh). The short film is a salute to the spirit of famous brave photojournalists such as Danish Siddique who put their lives in danger to serve those who suffered through this tragic event.
Mihir was aware that he had discovered his Manav when Amit Sadh was willing to play the Manav.
He told me: “Amit (Sadh) and I have been in sync since our first meeting, when I shared my vision to him, the type of themes my film dealt with and the way I wanted to entice the audience into the high-tension human drama. Before even going through the script he accepted my offer. It was that decision of his that allowed the film to be written.”
The principal shooting of the film was shot in Maharashtra over a period of four days with Amit Sadh, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Pamela Bhutoria as the group.
The shocking, yet powerful revelations of “Ghuspaith” were initially embraced in Sadh who believed that the story to be a necessity to tell, as well as filmmaker Shakun Batra who is presenting ‘Ghuspaith under his Jouska Films banner.Jouska Films.
He states “Ghuspaith is an incredibly brave effort to comprehend the grief and terror that must have been felt during the final days of Danish Siddique.
I believe it takes a lot of courage to witness this and Ghuspaith is an attempt to help everyone of us to appreciate the courage required to transcend boundaries in the pursuit of humanity. This is the goal we have set with Ghuspaith”.
