Panaji August 11, : In a clear joke at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Thursday that he doesn’t need advice from political parties on how best to manage the state’s primary schools, rather they should look into the state of schools in their states.Sawant had a reaction to a suggestion of AAP Goa unit, that had suggested to adopt government primary schools that the government wanted to integrate with other schools due to of the weaker number of students.
The AAP had announced they would adopt the Delhi model to increase enrolment and improve performance in Goa.
“Government has the capability of managing schools in Goa.In the last 60 years, the Goa government has run primary schools.BJP government since 2012 until 2022 have upgraded the infrastructure of schools.We don’t require any advice,” Sawant said.
“No political party should assume responsibility for the management of schools.The government is competent.We care about the students learning.
We do not have any concerns of building.We are concerned about providing high-quality education to our students.
Thus, a merger plan was taken,” he said.
“New Education policy Quality of education, quality of education, taking into consideration all of these aspects, we have begun a survey, we will not shut down schools.
We are looking to combine it and provide them with a an infrastructure that is good together with teachers.We don’t need advice from anyone, and their suggestions,” Sawant said.
“Political parties shouldn’t show that they are looking to accomplish something extraordinary by going in their respective states and observe the state of their schools.Simply submitting a memorandums and obtaining news in Delhi to prove that they are doing something fantastic.we’re capable of managing schools,”” he said.
He said that the merger proposal is in the “planning stage”.”We will hold all participants in confidence including parents and teachers.Don’t cause panic in their minds.I have concerns as the education Minister,” Sawant said.
