Los Angeles, Aug 8 : Boxing legend Mike Tyson who will be featured in the pan-India film “Liger” starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday has once again voiced his displeasure over the upcoming Hulu biopic on his life.Former professional heavyweight boxer isn’t fond of Mike, to put it mildly and claims that the streaming service “stole” his personal story.according to “Variety”.
Tyson has voiced his complaints about Hulu and the show on his Instagram postings, including two with harsh words about the streaming service.
The first blog post praises Dana White, the standing president of the world’s most renowned mixed martial arts group Ultimate Fighting Championship.Tyson claims that Hulu tried to pay White and possibly UFC to promote “Mike” however White refused since he “honours friendship”.
Tyson describes the series as Tyson’s series a “slave master takeover tale” about his personal life.
“Hulu tried to pay my brother Dana White millions without offering me a penny to help promote their slave master takeover my story,” Tyson wrote.
“He declined because he values friendship and treats people with respect.I’ll never forget the kindness he gave me, just as I’ll never forget the money Hulu took from me.”
Then, Tyson shared a second blog post in which he criticized Hulu: “Don’t let Hulu fool you.I don’t agree with their narrative about my life.It’s not even 1822.It’s 2022.They took my life story but did not pay me.To Hulu executives I’m just an”n ****r you can buy on auction blocks.”
It’s not the first time Tyson has voiced his displeasure about the production.In February of 2021, Tyson declared his disapproval just after the show was approved by Hulu.
“This announcement coming on the occasion of the social asymmetry in the United States is a perfect illustration of the way that Hulu’s corporate greed has led to this tone deaf cultural misuse of the Tyson life story,” Tyson said in an interview in the moment.
“Mike” The film stars Trevante Rhodes in the role of Tyson The film follows the character’s life from childhood to his illustrious career as a professional boxer through an array of scandals that followed his retirement from sports.
The screenwriter of ‘I,Tonya’ Steven Rogers created ‘Mike’ and executive produces.Karin Gist serves as showrunner and executive producer under her The Gist of It banner together with Claire Brown.
Hulu will air the initial two episodes of the season’s eight episodes on August 25.
In the months following “Mike” was approved by Hulu, Tyson signed on as executive producer for an unrelated series that focused on his life with Jamie Foxx attached to play the boxer.
However the production hasn’t found a reliable network, which has slowed development in the last few months.
