Kiev 5 August : Ukraines military intelligence chief has revived the idea that Russian President Vladimir Putin is using body doubles — and pointed to his varying ears over time as proof, reports in the media claimed. Putin’s (69) health has been the subject of heated debate among journalists, Daily Mail reported.
His close allies Nikolai Patrushev is said to have stepped in on behalf of the president in his medical appointments according to the report.
This week the Ukrainian Major General Kyrylo Budanov was on TV to tell viewers that the height of Putin and ear size are different in recent times, The Sun reported.
He declared: “The picture, let’s say, of the ears, is different for each person.And , just like fingerprints, every individual’s ear image is unique.It is not able to be duplicated.”
Budanov further claimed that Putin body doubles “have distinct habits and mannerisms, have different gaits, and sometimes different heights when you look at them closely”.
Budanov had previously stated that an Vladimir Putin body ‘double’ might have been the reason behind his appearance at the summit in Tehran last month.
The Russian leader appeared a bit awkward as he made his way across the steps of his plane in Tehran, Ukrainian sources said he was extremely quick and appeared more attentive than in previous public appearances, Daily Mail reported.
The Russian premier seemed animated while greeting the crowd before taking off his jacket and climbing into a heavily armed limousine.
Budanov claimed he was sceptical of Putin’s appearance in an interview that aired live on 1+1, Ukraine’s news channel.
Ukrainian reports suggested that Budanov had claimed that the Putin model could have travelled to Tehran to meet with the presidents of Iran and Turkey.
“I will only give a hint.

The Russian leader’s visit to Tehran where he met with Iran’s top leadership as well as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.The visit attracted international attention.
