Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy chaired a meeting of the Road Safety Council (Andhra Pradesh Road Safety Council) at the camp office on Monday.During the meeting, officials briefed the CM on several key issues as well as the causes of road accidents.

Afterwards, CM Jagan made some suggestions to the authorities.He also approved the implementation of some key decisions.

Officials told CM YS Jagan that ‘108’ plays a key role in saving the lives of those injured in accidents and getting them to hospitals on time.Authorities say many of the survivors are waiting to be admitted to hospitals during the Golden Hour.

Authorities said they had identified 1190 black spots across the state, of which 520 were rectified.Officials said 78 black spots were also rectified on the National Highway, which is operated by R&B.

CM YS Jagan directed the authorities to set up a driving school in every parliamentary constituency in collaboration with the RTC and the government.He said the RTC would also utilize the facility for driving training.

It was directed to set up Trauma Care Centers in each district in line with the new districts and also to set up Trauma Care Centers in the 16 newly established Medical Colleges.

He said that lane marking on the road should be very clear to avoid accidents and special lanes for bikes and special lanes for four wheelers should be considered.

He also said that sign boards should be set up on how fast to go.The CM advised the officials that the accidents would be reduced to a great extent by preventing liquor sales in Dhaba next to the roads.
