Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has been granted bail in a case registered 15 years ago.The Mumbai Metropolitan Magistrate recently dismissed the case registered against her.On April 15, 2007, a celebrity campaign was launched in Rajasthan to raise awareness about AIDS.It was attended by Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and Hollywood actor Richard Gere.
Richard Gere openly hugged and kissed Shilpa Shetty during the show.The action of the two provoked a serious scandal.
Citizens in large numbers protested in several cities, including Varanasi, Bhopal, Kanpur, Delhi and Mumbai.On April 26, 2007, a court in Rajasthan issued a warrant for the arrest of Shilpa and Gear.
However, a two-judge bench of the Supreme Court subsequently suspended the arrest warrants.
Chavan made key remarks to Mumbai Metropolitan Magistrate Ketaki, who recently heard the case.Shilpa had left shortly after the incident.He also dismissed the case, saying all the allegations against her were baseless.
‘None of the allegations mentioned in the complaint have been substantiated.Furthermore, the final report does not contain the necessary steps to prosecute the accused under Section 34 of the IPC.That is why I am hitting this case .‘Chavan clarified to Magistrate Ketaki.At the time, Shilpa Shetty and Richard Gears were being prosecuted under sections 292, 293, 294 (pornography) of the IPC, certain sections of the Information Technology Act and the Prohibited Behavior of Women (Prohibition) Act.In fact, the complaint was filed by a court in Rajasthan.Later, Shilpa Shetty filed a petition to transfer the cases to Mumbai.In 2017, the Supreme Court allowed her petition.The case has recently been struck down.When it comes to movies, Shilpa Shetty’s film ‘Hungama 2’ starring Paresh Rawal and Meezan Jaffrey after a gap of 13 years has been released recently.
