Mumbai, January 1, : , Six months after the derogatory site “Sulli Deals”, a new controversy has erupted with “Bulli Bai”, which targets women from another faith.On January 1, “Bulli Bai”, a collection of photos of famous women, including students, journalists and social workers, appeared on the internet.
Github is a hosting platform that allowed for “Sulli Deals”, and “Bulli Bai” was also created.
A Twitter account with the handle @bullibai promoted “Bulli Bai”, with a display image of a “Khalistani fan” and a statement that women could be booked through the app.The handle promoted Khalistani content as well.
Priyanka Chakraborty, a Rajya Sabha member and leader of Shiv Sena, stated that she had raised the issue with Mumbai Police.
She said the suspect should be brought to justice as soon as possible.
“I spoke to the Mumbai Police Commissioner, DCP Crime Rashmi Karandikar.They will look into the matter.DGP Maharashtra has also been contacted for assistance.
She said that she hoped those responsible for such sexist and misogynistic sites would be arrested.
Mumbai Police stated that they are investigating the matter and seeking legal advice to file the case according to relevant sections of the IPC.
Two FIRs against unidentified persons were filed when “Sulli Deal” was published.The culprits remain at large and no arrests have been made.
