New Delhi, December 31, : .Contrary to Virat Kohli’s assertion, Chetan Sharma on Friday stated that all present at the meeting — BCCI officials as well as selectors — asked the Indian cricket captain to reconsider his decision not to resign from the T20I captaincy.
Chetan stated that Kohli’s decision to announce just before the 2021 T20 World Cup, in which India will lose its 20-overs captaincy after the tournament was a surprise for selectors as well as the board members present at the meeting.

Virat claimed that Virat had not been asked by the board and the selection committee to reconsider his decision of giving up captaincy for the most short format possible.
