Srinagar 31 December : .Senior Army officers and Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel stated that 2021 will see the lowest number of militants since the Union Territory began militancy.Top army and police officers addressed the media following the deaths of six militants, and one soldier, in separate encounters at Kulgam, Anantnag.They stated that although there were less militants than 200 active, local counterparts were around 85-86 in 2021.
When asked if the militants are increasing, Lieutenant General D.P.Pandey (General Officer Commanding) 15 Corps said that the number of militants has decreased this year.A very intriguing trend has emerged that I wanted to share with you.
Senior youth over 21 aren’t joining the militant ranks.They have begun to recruit youth in the 15-16 age bracket, as it is difficult for them to convince these young people to join.

Vijay Kumar (IGP) said that for the first-time in J&K’s history, the number of militants is now less than 200.
“It’s also the first time in history that there are fewer than 100 active terrorists within the local area.After yesterday’s encounter, there are approximately 85-86 remaining militants.
But, an increase in encounters doesn’t mean a rise in militancy.This means that we must take proactive steps.The rate of Militancy in the United States is declining, not rising.
Kumar stated that foreign militants often hide in higher places during the summer and come down when winter comes, which is good for them.
