The meeting was attended by Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Finance Minister, and the state finance ministers.

Baghel claims that the GST tax system has caused a revenue loss to states. He said that the Centre has not taken steps to offset the revenue loss of Rs.5,000 crore for the state over the next year. Therefore, the GST compensation grant must be extended for five years, even beyond June 2022.

He also stated that Chhattisgarh had received Rs 13.089 crore less in central taxes during the Union Budget over the past three years. The state should receive the full amount of central taxes in the next budget.

The Centre received Rs 4.140 crore at Rs 294 per ton on coal mining from block companies. He demanded that the money be transferred to the State as soon as possible.

Baghel offered various ideas during the meeting such as generous amounts to farmers and laborers through different schemes.

To make MNREGA’s wage rate equal to that of the Labour Commissioner, and to provide special incentives to produce pulses/oilseeds.

In addition, the Chief Minister pointed out that the Centre’s reduction of Central Excise Tax on petrol/diesel will result in a decrease in the share of the state and a reduction of VAT revenue.

The cess should therefore be decreased in the future.

For states that are doing better under PradhanMantri Jan Arogya Yajana (Ayushman Bharat), he demanded an increase in the family premium of Rs 1,100.

This would allow for more beneficiaries to receive the benefits, he stated.

He also requested establishment of International Cargo Terminal at Raipur.

This is a campus in Central Tribal University, and a marketing center under Vocal for Local Scheme of the Union Budget.
