Los Angeles, December 28, 2018 : .Netflix announced ‘The Last Movie Ever Made,’ a podcast series which will give a look behind-the scenes at Adam McKay, the writer and director of Netflix’s comedy disaster movie ‘Don’t Look Up.Variety.com reports that the podcast will consist of six episodes.The first episode will air on January 7, 2022.
The podcast will feature a look into the production of the movie and an argument about the story’s parallels with how the ruling institutions mishandled Covid pandemic.It also features appearances from various cast members, such as Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio and Meryl Streep.
The podcast’s title reads, “In early 2020 Adam McKay set off to make comedy.”
It was intended to be a joke and to point out the obstacles that prevent us from addressing climate change.2020 had different plans.It was the result of a crew and cast coming together to create a comedy about disaster while experiencing a number of uncomedic tragedies.
After an initial theatrical release on December 10, “Don’t Look Up” was made available for streaming on Netflix starting December 24, 2017.
Although the film received mixed reviews, it seems to be poised to compete in this year’s Oscar race.
Some even called it too funny to lose.
Peter Debruge, chief critic at Variety, called the tone of “Don’t Look Up” “grating,” even though you only have to look a little to find a version of his rants in real life.
McKay spoke to Variety recently about the movie’s many endings.
