Mumbai, December 27, 2012 : .Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shaikh is gearing up to star in his upcoming web series ‘Kaun Banega Shikharwati.
He says he receives more roles via OTT than he does on film.Naseer stated, “I’m being offered more interesting work in OTT than the movies.But since things opened up, I’ve done several cameos in films made by my friends.It’s usually either the huge films costing Rs 5,000 crore or very small movies made in Mumbai.I’m not one of those, but have appeared in several smaller roles on the latter.
Comedy-drama about dysfunctional royal families is the theme of this web series.
Lara Dutta and Soha Ali Khan are also featured in the show, as well as Kritika Kamra and Anya Singh Raghubir Yadav.
Naseer answered a question about why he took up the project.”I said yes to KBS because it was something I wanted to do, and it just happened!” It’s unique because the characters are eccentric to varying degrees.With most of the content on OTT being bloody revenge dramas and steamy love stories, there may be some room for lightheartedness.
It is entirely up to the viewers to decide how they see it.In any event, people choose what content to view when projects are announced.
ZEE5 will release ‘Kaun Banegi Schikharwati’ on January 7.
