The Telugu Desam Party, which is facing severe difficulties with a series of defeats in Andhra Pradesh, is reportedly set to take a key decision soon to bring back its former glory.The TDP has seen a crushing defeat in almost all the local body elections held after YS Jaganmohan Reddy became the Chief Minister of the state.
Reviews are now being conducted to focus on party strengthening in the state.
The YCP government in the state has officially brought in the volunteer system.
There are allegations that they are contributing to the YCP during the elections.Chandrababu and other party leaders have made allegations and criticisms of the system in the past.
However, now, Chandrababu wants the party to have such a system, in order to strengthen the TDP in the villages.The TDP has strong activists in 175 constituencies across the state.
From those activists, it is planned to select young men and women to work for the party.
TDP is planning to explain the government failures to the people through them by giving them a monthly honorarium by the party, assigning duties in a way that reflects the progress made during the last TDP regime.
With elections in the state still two and a half years away, activists are expected to be recruited from next year.
