New Delhi, December 14, 2014 : .The National Investigation Agency (NIA), Tuesday announced that it had arrested Sobhan Aryanfar (28), an Afghan national for allegedly supplying heroin.The NIA recovered 2988.11 kg of heroin from Mundra Port in Gujarat.The NIA discovered that drug supply and procurement were being carried out by foreigners.
According to the NIA official, they filed a case under section 17, 18, and 23 of UA (P) Acts, as well as sections 8(c) & 23 of NDPS Acts and Section 120B of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
He was a Neb Sarai resident in South Delhi.His network was already established and he operated from his home.
“During investigation the arrested Afghan national has been found to be involved in the conspiracy of transporting narcotic drugs concealed in import consignment of ‘Semi-processed Talc stones’ originating from Afghanistan.The NIA had earlier arrested seven accused in this case,” said an NIA official.
The official said that further investigation in the case is on.
