Chandigarh : , Dec 14, 2014 – Anil Vij, Haryana Home Minister said Tuesday that Rs 40 Crore has been approved to construct a domestic Ambala airport.Near the Ambala Air Force Station, a new terminal is being built.
From there passengers can take the taxi-way and board the plane.The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation has approved the amount, he said.
Construction of the terminal at domestic airport will begin soon.
Under the scheme of regional connectivity, the Central government launched the UDAN program.
Vij, the Home Minister made special efforts to ensure that the UDAN program was available to Ambala constituency.
The first airport terminal was to be built around the Air Force station.
For this, the administration had earlier identified land in Dhankaur, Dhulkot, Garnala and Barnala villages adjoining the station.
Later, with the efforts of Vij, the army land near the military dairy farm on the Air Force station road was selected for constructing the domestic airport.
