IANSlife New Delhi, December 14, (IANSlife).Celebrating North East 202021, an annual cultural event, was held over two days at the New Moti Bagh Club in the Capital.
The festival’s thirteenth edition was organized by the North East Institute of Fashion Technology, which showcased the richness of India’s Northeastern Region with music, dance and inspiring artisan works.
Northeast CelebrationDarshana Jardosh was the Hon’ble Minister for Railways and Textiles.
Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh was Hon’ble Secretary of State, and Ramdas Athawale, Minister for Social justice & Empowerment and U.P.Singh, Secretary for Textiles, in the presence members of parliament, diplomats.
Vikram Raimedhi, chief festival curator and CEO of NEIFT, shares that “We feel blessed to have support from Various Central Govt.
Our 13th edition was made possible by the support of Ministries, Bodoland Territorial Council and Assam Government.They have all supported and encouraged us in bringing the Culture, Fashions, Handicrafts and Handlooms to Delhi, and creating a mini North East at Chanakyapuri.
These festivals are believed to bring together people from different backgrounds and help in dispelling negative stereotypes of the North East Region (NER).
NER is a culturally diverse and rich region with its own socio-anthropological history.
Its terrain is perfect for adventure Tourism but unfortunately many are not aware of it.This festival has been organised to bring Delhi-NCR people closer to its culture”.
