When You Are Playing For India, Pressure Will Never Be Absent: Rohit Sharma

New Delhi (12/12/2012) Rohit Sharma, India’s white-ball cricket captain, said Sunday that there will be pressure on all players who play for the Men in Blue.He also suggested that individual performance should not be influenced by outside noise.
After Virat Kohli decided to retire from his role as T20I captain, Rohit took over the T20I captaincy.The selectors didn’t want two leaders in the T20I or ODI team.

Star opener, however, stated that he would not be able to ignore the pressure and will focus his efforts on his job.

The pressure of playing for India is high when you’re on the field.It will always be high.Rohit said in a BCCI video that there will be lots of talk about it, whether it’s positive or negative.”

For me personally as a cricketer it’s important to concentrate on my job.You can’t control what other people talk about.He said, “I have repeated it many times and will continue to repeat it.”

He also stated that the 34-year old wants players to have a strong relationship when playing for India.They should be able to focus on the things they can control and not the noise outside.
