Basavaraj Bommai, Karnataka’s Chief Minister, and Dr Rajiv Kumar Vice Chairman of NITIAayog had launched Friday the Fellowship.
This fellowship encourages young artists to make sculptures out of plastic waste.
The 12th CSR Leadership Summit hosted the launch.
Among others, distinguished guests included Biocon Executive Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar Shaw and Accel Partners Partner Prashant Prakash as well as Additional Chief Secretary Dr Shalini Rajneesh.
The Fellowship will invite entries from various young artists.25 of the best will be chosen by an elite jury.They will mentor them over several weeks and create sculptures that are life-sized from recycled plastic.
It is one of the many initiatives of The Hyphen, an organisation aiming at channelising the potential of youth for nation building.”I am delighted that this Fellowship is receiving so much love and appreciation from our stakeholders and partners,” he said.
