Chennai, November 23, : , A Pudukottai fisherman went missing Monday night after his boat that he was fishing had been blown over by strong winds.K.Ganeshan, 45 and L.Manimuthu (42), were fishing from a boat made of fibre.They had set out to fish in a vessel that was located in Kottaipattinam in Pudukottai.Ganeshan did not register the boat with the fisheries division.
Sources in the Coastal Security Group claim that the boats set sail at 7 p.m., and were blown over by strong winds around 8.30 p.m.Ganeshan was saved by fishermen in nearby waters, but Manimuthu disappeared and couldn’t be located.
In search of Manimuth, local fishermen went into the ocean.Sources said that the Coastal Security Group also monitors the situation.
