San Francisco, November 23rd : , Niantic, a Pokemon GO developer has received $300 million in funding from Coatue Global Investment Manager at a value of $9 billion.Niantic stated that it would use the money to buy new games and apps, grow the Lightship platform for developers, and further develop its vision of the Real-World Metaverse.
John Hanke (Niantic CEO and Founder) stated, “We are building a future in which the real world overlaid digital creations, entertainment, and information.This will make it more magical and fun.”
The Lightship platform was launched by Niantic earlier this month.It allows developers around the globe to realize their dreams for augmented reality, and the Real-World Metaverse.
Niantic’s Lightship Platform, a result of years of developing titles like Ingress Prime or Pokemon GO, is what forms the basis for its own products.

He said that Niantic was building an AR platform based on 3D maps of the globe.This will be a crucial role in the next generation in computing.
Each month, millions play Niantic games like Ingress and Pokemon GO.
The company stated that over the years our players had walked more than 17.5 million km (10.9 billion miles) in total.
Pikmin Bloom was launched by Nintendo and Niantic last month.It is a smartphone application that brings joy to your daily foot journeys.
