Tehran, November 21st : .The Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has been involved in a series of direct battles with US forces in the Gulf.
Nine of these forces were “martyred”, Alireza Tangsiri (the navy commander for the IRGC), announced Sunday.Tangsiri stated that nine soldiers were killed to defend the country’s territory.
He also said the IRGC had made it possible for the US to recognize the sovereignty of Islamic republics in the sea, Xinhua reported.
Tangsiri didn’t mention when the clashes took place or the circumstances in which the nine Iranian soldiers died during a battle against the US forces.
He also mentioned that some confrontations between the IRGC and the US forces were not widely reported in media.
Tangsiri noted that young Iranians need to be aware of the Gulf’s importance as Iran has significant resources and capabilities there.
After a brief encounter, the IRGC stated that the US attempted to seize the Iranian oil in Sea of Oman had been defeated by it on November 3.
