San Francisco, November 19, : .The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), has expressed concern over Nvidia’s deal for $40 billion to buy British chip design company Arm.Colette Kress, Nvidia’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), stated that concerns have been raised by the US FTC regulators during an earnings conference with analysts.
We are currently in talks with them about possible remedies.
She informed that the transactions are currently being reviewed by China Antitrust Authority in preparation for formal case filing.
The transaction was not approved by the EU and UK regulators in phase 1 of their competition review.
“In the UK they also raised national security concerns.The Phase 2 process has been initiated in both the EU and UK.Kress stated that despite these concerns, and others raised by Arm licensees we still believe in the merits of the acquisition to Arm and its licensees as well as to the industry.”
The UK’s watchdog is currently examining Nvidia’s acquisition of British chip design Arm for $40 billion.
Last month, the European Commission opened an investigation into Nvidia’s $40 billion purchase of Arm.
