Kathua/New Delhi : , On Thursday, the loyalists to Ghulam Azad, former Chief Minister of J&K, held a rally in Dayala Chak, Kathua.A day following the resignations of twelve Congress leaders loyal to Azad from their posts, the rally was organized.
Azad, who demanded the restoration of J&K’s statehood, attacked the Centre for splitting the former state of J&K in two Union Territories. This was something that even the Britishers were not willing to do.
Sources said that the Congress leader who leads the G-23 Congress has become upset at being reportedly excluded from party affairs.
According to his supporters, Azad is the only person who can take the party to victory over J&K.
He also stated that the state chief of the party’s party does not intend to revive it.
As protest against Ghulam Ahmad Mir’s state Congress leadership, several Azad loyalists from Jammu and Kashmir quit Wednesday.
Azad loyalists would like him to become the state unit chief in advance of the Assembly elections in J&K.
Mir’s method of working and Mir’s continued in his post are apparently causing a rihanna among state leaders, even though Mir and his son lost in the Lok Sabha elections and District Development Council elections.
Sources claim that the anger is directed at the top leadership of the party for failing to address the party’s decline in Union Territory.
In the resignation letters, it was stated that “Sycophants have taken over and hijacked” the functions of the state Congress.
