San Francisco, November 18th : .SpaceX is Elon Musk’s tech company.
If all goes well, SpaceX will attempt to launch a Starship into orbit early next year.SpaceX CEO and founder Musk stated that the company targets January or February to launch its Starship orbital rocket.Space.com reports that this initial milestone leap should be followed shortly by others.
Musk stated that “We plan to do, hopefully, twelve (Starship), launches next year,” during a livestreamed presentation given at the joint fall meeting of Space Studies Board and Board on Physics and Astronomy, which were both part of the US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
He added, “Maybe more.”
Starship is made up of two components, one of which is a massive booster called Super Heavy and the other a spacecraft measuring 165 feet (50m) in height.
SpaceX’s Next-Generation Raptor Engine powers both.It is six for Starship, and 29 for Super Heavy.
Musk stated that the booster will soon have 33 Raptors.
SpaceX has developed this innovative transportation system for people and payloads that will take them to Mars, the Moon and other faraway destinations.
Musk stated that Starship was ultimately designed as a transport system for the larger solar system.
SpaceX launched several test flights using Starship prototypes, from the “Starbase”, which is located near Boca Chica in South Texas.These hops were only three-engined and reached an altitude of 6 miles.
SpaceX’s orbital Starship SN20, which is the first to be launched from space, was stacked atop the massive Super Heavy Booster 4 at its Starbase facility in South Texas on August 6, 2021.They were 395 feet high, more than NASA’s Saturn V lunar rocket.
