Tensions escalated in the Kuppam municipality amid Municipal elections in the constituency.The municipal elections polling is continuing in the constituency since morning.
The TDP has already accused the authorities and the police of acting in favour of the ruling party YSP in the elections.Tensions erupted at the 16th ward polling station after a TDP candidate got into an altercation with police.

The activists and agents along with the TDP candidate alleged that the police were evicting them from entering the polling booth.
The situation became tenser as former TDP MLC Gauriwani Srinivasan and MP Reddappa reached the spot.
With this, the police deployed more forces at the polling station to prevent any untoward incidents.
Already, the TDP has complained to the state election commission that the YCP is using power and committing irregularities and atrocities in elections.
TDP leaders Ashok Babu, Bonda Uma and Bode Prasad have lodged a complaint with the SEC against YCP irregularities.
