Four workers died o the spot in a recent accident that occurred at the SRP3 mine in the Srirampur area of the Manchiryala district.At 10.30 am on Wednesday, Bera Lachchaiya (60), Krishnareddy (58), Gaddam Satyanarsinharaju (32) and Renka Chandrasekhar (32) were carrying out roof bolting at 21 Deep and 24th level in the underground mine.
In the process, the four of them died on the spot when a rock suddenly fell from the top.Upon receiving this information, the officials immediately called the members of the rescue team and tried to retrieve the mortal remains.
Workers were alarmed when Renka Chandrasekhar’s body was brought out of the mine underground.
They shouted slogans against the ownership of Singareni.Leaders of the national trade unions declared solidarity with them.Leaders of national trade unions have accused the authorities of putting pressure on workers and sacrificing their lives in the name of coal production.Rescue crews are trying to retrieve three more bodies.
The Singareni management has expressed shock over the death of four workers in the accident.Sridhar, chairman and MD of the company, directed the concerned authorities to immediately investigate the incident and report it to him.
