The Andhra Pradesh High Court has permitted the Maha Padayatra of Amravati farmers titled ‘Nyayasthanam to Devasthanam’.Amravati farmers have been calling for a 47-day walkathon from November 1 to Tirupati.
However, recently, the Andhra Pradesh DGP Gautam Sawang said that the padayatra would not be allowed due to security concerns.Against this backdrop, the farmers filed a lunch motion petition in the high court.
The court ruled that there were no valid reasons for the police denying the permission for padayatra.
Amaravati farmers’ Mahapadayatra, ‘Nyayasthanam to Devasthanam’ is going to be held from Amravati to Tirumala.
Amravati JAC leaders and farmers’ unions have announced that the padayatra will be held from November 1 to December 17.
Amaravati JAC made it clear that all sections of the people would be included in the padayatra, and invitations had already been issued to the leaders of all parties in Andhra Pradesh.
The Janasena, CPI and CPM, along with the main opposition TDP, have expressed support for the Amravati Farmers’ Mahapadayatra.Dalit JAC leaders also said that they would participate in the Mahapadayatra.
On November 1, the padayatra continues from Tulluru to Tadikonda.Farmers urged everyone to support their walkathon.
