Hyderabad has been inundated with rains for the past two days.Due to the heavy rains, rivers and drainages are overflowing.
Roads in the city were inundated due to last night’s rain.Heavy rain with thunder and lightning lashed many places this afternoon and evening.
Heavy rains lashed Banjara Hills, Ameerpet, Panjagutta, Somajiguda, Koti, Sultan Bazar, Begum Bazar, Abids, Basheerbagh, Nampally, Uppal, Nagole, Dilsukhnagar, Saroor Nagar, Kushaiguda and Chengicherla.Roads were flooded with rainwater.
Traffic was heavily congested in several areas due to the floodwater.
On the other hand, due to the heavy rains in the city, the authorities lifted the gates of Himayatsagar and Osmannagar were lifted.
Also, the officials issued an alert to the people living downstream of River Musi.
In many places, cars and autos were washed away in the rainwater.
Against this backdrop, authorities ordered people not to come out of houses except in an emergency.Due to the sudden incessant rains, GHMC officials advised people to be vigilant in the wake of Meteorological Department warnings.
Inland people are being evacuated to safer areas.Authorities said they should contact the control room number 040 2111 1111 for assistance.
