The Telangana government is scheduled to appear for the meet with Godavari and Krishna River Management Boards today.But, the Telangana state government has asked the Krishna and Godavari river ownership boards to postpone the meeting date for Telangana officials to attend the board meeting.
To this end, the Telangana state government penned two different letters to both boards.
The Principal Secretary of the Irrigation department, Rajat Kumar, penned to the KRMB and GRMB chairpersons on behalf of the Telangana state government.
In the letter, he mentioned that the Telangana officials would not attend the board meeting on Monday as cases were pending in the Supreme Court and the National Green Tribunal.
Against this backdrop, Rajat Kumar asked the board chairmen to convene the meeting after August 9.Also, he has sent the letter copies to the Union Minister of Water-Energy director and the Director of Water Resources.
Earlier, the Telangana state Irrigation Department NC Muralidhar had written separate letters to both boards.
However, both the boards directed the Telugu states to hold the meeting in the wake of the directions of the Central Water Energy Department to expedite the operation.
