GMR Hyderabad Air Cargo (GHAC) is the largest importer of corona vaccine in the country.The Sputnik-V vaccine from Russia arrived in India today.Another 27.9 lakh vaccine doses were imported in the third phase.A special chartered Fighter RU-9450 aircraft from Russia arrived at GMR Hyderabad Air Cargo in the early hours of this morning carrying the vaccines.The vaccines reached Dr.Reddy Labs 90 minutes after the import process was completed.
According to credible information, this is the largest import in the Sputnik vaccine supply.Earlier, 1.5 lakh vaccines were imported in the first phase and 60,000 doses in the second phase.With this, already, a total of 30 lakh doses have reached India.Russia has already said it will ship another 50 lakh doses of vaccine in June.Dr.Reddy Labs will begin the distribution of Sputnik-V vaccines from the second week of June.
So far, this is the largest import of covid vaccines to India.GHAC has further consolidated its position as the largest vaccine importer in India, Air Cargo said.Major pharma companies in and around Hyderabad are expected to manufacture 3.5 lakh doses of various types of covid vaccines in the coming days.
