Long ago it was announced that Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi would be acting in the biopic of spin wizard Muthiah Muralidharan who is a prominent Sri Lankan spin bowler.The film is said to be titled ‘800’ and the interesting thing about this title is Muralitharan took 800 wickets in his Test career which is a world record.
The film is directed by MS.Sripathi, who previously directed ‘Kanimozhi’.Malayalam actress Rajisha Vijayan who gave a splendid performance in ‘June’ is touted to play the female lead.The latest, we hear is that the first look and motion poster of this biopic would be launched on October 13th.
Vijay Setupathi has taken to Twitter and posted a picture that indicates the same.“Honoured to be a part of this landmark project.Update soon.” posted Vijay Setupathi on Twitter profile.The film, which has been postponed due to the recent lockdown, will start shooting from February or March 2021.
The film is bankrolled by Dar Motion Pictures in association with Movie Train Motion Pictures which is going to be made in different languages.
The details of the complete cast and crew will come out soon.On the work front, Vijay Sethupathi is currently busy with SP.Jananathan’s Laabam which has Shruti Haasan as the female lead.Keep watching this space for more updates!
