Akhil Akkineni’s Pan India movie Agent is struggling to see the light of the day.The Spy thriller has been postponed a few times already and if the inside reports are to be believed, the film’s release date has been changed one more time again.
Akkineni fans have been waiting eagerly to watch this film but, much to their disappointment, it has been postponed several times and finally the makers had announced that the Agent will be released Worldwide on April 28.However, according to the latest reports, the movie is said to be postponed again because of incomplete works, and it will be released in May.
Agent which is directed by Surender Reddy has been produced by Anil Sunkara and Surender Reddy jointly under AK Entertainments and Surender 2 Cinema.They launched the film back in April 2021 and faced many hurdles during the shooting time.
As per the reports Surender Reddy and producer Anil Sunkara are not on good terms.Anil Sunkara became enraged after the director spent more money than stipulated in the budget on “Agent,” which featured Akhil.
“Agent’s” initial budget was Rs 40 crore; it has now risen to Rs 70- Rs 80 crore.Though Surender Reddy is confident that he would recover the investment, Anil Sunkara is worried about the low theatrical business.
For Tier-2 heroes like Akhil, the film is made on a massive budget.None of Akhil’s previous films have breached the Rs 70 crore mark.
The theatrical business added more fuel to the makers.They have quoted 60 Crores ratios for the Telugu States rights of the film, but they have sold the Telugu States and Karnataka rights to Gayatri films.
They have sold the Telugu states for 35 Crores, which is a very low price considering the movie’s budget.The Karnataka rights will be around 4 crores.
The film was launched back in April 2021 and after almost 2 years of filming, it has reached its final stage.Excluding a major action sequence, the unit has completed all other shooting parts.
The movie is said to be postponed again because of incomplete works, and it will be released in May.
Malayalam star Mammootty is essaying a vital character in this film.Mammootty’s role in this film would be central to Akhil Akkineni’s agent and will drive it.Surender Reddy’s stylish taking will be the major highlight of the movie, while Hip-hop Tamizha composing the music for this film.
