Andhra Pradesh is experiencing heavy rains due to the effects of the cyclone.Especially in Chittoor and Nellore districts, heavy trees are being uprooted due to torrential rains.
TTD Ghat Road has been closed due to landslides on the first ghat road in Thirumala.Heavy rains in Tirupati overnight caused trees to break branches and fall on power lines.
As a result, power supply was cut off in many places.
Collector M Harinarayanan advised people to be vigilant in the wake of heavy rains forecast for Chittoor district till tonight.
He said that some villages are mainly adjacent to hilly areas and during the monsoon season, the hill water flows into the villages.In case of any incidents Tehsildars and MPDOs in those areas have been directed to take immediate remedial action without waiting for further orders.
