The Auto Union Samaakhya has put up an order with nine demands, which includes the abolition of the Motor Vehicle Act, 2019.The members of the joint action committee which comprises several trade unions like AITUC, CITU, IFTU, INTUC, TRSKV and TNTUC, declared the news through a press meet.
On Friday, the joint action committee has released the bandh-call poster and said Auto rickshaws, cabs, trucks and lorries, and other private transportations in Telangana would support the nation-wide bandh against the BJP government at the Centre.While speaking to media, Telangana Auto Union Samakhya general secretary, A Satish Reddy said the committee has nine demands, including the abolition of the Motor Vehicle Act, 2019.
Apart from that, waiving-off of transportation tax for the lockdown period, starting March to December 31, and for the formation of a transportation workers’ board.The committee has also put up the demands like payment of Rs 10,000 per month to auto and cab drivers for the duration of lockdown; exemption from paying EMIs against vehicle loans till March 31, 2021; stopping extortion of usurious interests by private financiers for lockdown period, and provision of double bedroom houses to all cab drivers.
