Online classes will start from January 24 in Telangana state, the school education director said in a statement issued on Saturday.The government has in the past issued orders extending the Sankranthi holidays till January 30 in view of the health of students.
However, the Department of Education has given permission to school owners to conduct online classes keeping in view the syllabus, lessons and attendance.The director of education said that classes for 8th, 9th and 10th classes will be conducted online from Monday.
Government teachers have been directed to attend to duties on a 50-50 (day off day) basis in the wake of the commencement of classes for public school students.As part of the corona outreach, non-teaching staff in public schools were instructed to plan for half of them to attend one days and the other half the next day.On the other hand, depending on the situation in the state Covid Telangana education department has prepared a plan to open all educational institutions after January 31.
Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy said that in the wake of the corona, students have been promoted to the upper classes without examinations for the last two years and the decision will be taken only after conducting examinations this year.
