As many as 26 persons were bitten by stray dogs within the last three days in Mahabubabad district.Fourteen persons including women and small children were injured by dog bites in Megya and Venkaiah thandas under Maripeda mandal on Sunday.
The dogs did not spare the cattle either.Two buffaloes were injured in the attacks.
All the victims went to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Maripeda and took treatment.Two days back, stray dogs attacked pilgrims who attended the Gunjedu Musalamma Jatara in Kothaguda mandal.As many as 12 pilgrims were injured.
Fear has gripped the residents, who are scared of coming out of their houses due to the stray dog menace.
They pleaded with the district and local authorities to do the needful urgently.
This comes after a 7-year-old boy was mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs at a park near Railway Colony in Warangal-Kazipet area of Telangana on Tuesday.
There have been multiple incidents of stray dog bites and attacks reported in recent weeks.In the last week of April, just in Hanumakonda, 29 incidents of attacks on children and adults were reported.
In March, an attack on a 6-year-old child was reported in Kushibagga area of Warangal.
