Seoul/New Delhi, August 5 : Samsung Electronics will provide 5G equipment and solutions to Indian Telecommunications firm Bharti Airtel, marking the South Korean tech giant’s first 5G equipment purchase from India in the wake of India’s is set to launch 5G services following an auction that was successful for spectrum.Airtel is the fourth largest communications solution provider according to the number of users, is scheduled to launch a 5G network in India in August in cooperation with Samsung.
Swedish Ericsson as well as Finland’s Nokia have also been chosen as 5G partners.
Samsung announced that the deal will include the construction of 5G radio stations, as well as providing maintenance services and others.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
“5G will create a huge impact on India’s consumers as well as businesses, making mobile experiences go to a whole new level and introducing a range of improved capabilities, and expanding what is feasible,” Cheun Kyung-whoon, the president and director of the business of networks at Samsung Electronics, said in an announcement.

India is a huge market with around 1.1 billion people using of wireless communications.Samsung built India’s first 4G LTE network in 2016.
“We are thrilled to announce that Airtel will begin rolling out of 5G connectivity in August.Our network agreements are in place and Airtel will collaborate with the top technology partners from all over the globe to provide all the advantages of 5G to our customers,” Airtel CEO Gopal Vittal stated in an announcement.
