Hyderabad 24 August : Protests were continuing in Hyderabad on Wednesday, in protest of BJP MLA Raja Singh’s insulting remarks about Prophet Mohammad.A tense scene erupted in the old city of Mumbai on Tuesday night, as hundreds of people took to the streets following the announcement that Raja Singh was granted bail.
In two of locations, the protest became violent, prompting the police to use baton charges to disperse the protesters.They also burned tires on the roads.
In the presence of black flags and waving slogans, protesters gathered in the historical Charminar, Madina circle, Barkas, Chandrayangutta, Chanchalguda, City College, Afzal Gunj, and other locations.
For the second night in a row the city was witness to demonstrations in opposition to Raja Singh for hurting the religious beliefs of Muslims.
The protest continued until the the early the early hours of Wednesday.
The protesters demanded strict action against the controversial MLA , and some of protesters were carrying national flags.
Tension was evident in the city’s old quarters, and there is a chance of more protests on Wednesday.Police increased up security in the city and increased patrols in the areas that are sensitive to community.
Additional forces, including Rapid Action Force, Greyhounds and special reserve police were deployed to avoid any undesirable incident.
Raja Singh was granted bail by the city judge on Tuesday night, just a couple of hours after he was taken into Judicial custody in the case that was that was booked at the Mangalhat police station.
The case was brought under different sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was acquitted against him, and he was detained on Tuesday morning following an enormous demonstration that took place on Monday night over the video he had posted online with negative remarks regarding the Prophet.
The cases were also referred to the MLA in different police stations in Hyderabad and other districts.
The supporters of Raja Singh and protesters were been gathered in Nampally Criminal court, leading to tensions.Police used baton charges to disperse both groups.
After Raja Singh’s release his supporters gave him warm reception at his home in Dhoolpet.With slogans in his favor and distributing sweets.
The MLA denies making any derogatory remarks against anyone and has claimed that the video was in reaction to stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui’s recent performance in Hyderabad.
The BJP on Tuesday suspended Raja Singh from the party and demanded that he respond in 10 days about reasons he should not be removed from the party.
