New districts are to be formed under the 1974 AP Districts Act.The CCLA has drafted a preliminary notification on the formation of new districts and revenue divisions in accordance with the law.

The process of reorganizing new districts in AP is about to begin.Manyam, Alluri Sitharamaraju, NTR, Anakapalli, Konaseema, Eluru, Bapatla, Palnadu, Nandyala, Sreesatyasai, Kakinada, Annamayya and Sreebalaji districts will be formed.

Objections and suggestions will be received from locals on basic notifications.The government has made it clear that objections, suggestions and advice should be communicated within 30 days.

Manyam district with Parvathipuram center, Alluri Sitaramaraj district with Paderu center, Anakapalli district with Anakapalli center, Kakinada district with Kakinada center, Konaseema district with Amalapuram center, Eluru district with Eluru center, Bapatla district with Bapatla center and Palnadu district with Bapatla center as Narasaraopet center.Nandyala district will be formed as Nandyala center, Sreesatyasai district as Puttaparthi center, Annamayya district as Rayachoti center and Sreebalaji district as Tirupati center.

Meanwhile, the district headquarters will be shifted to East Godavari and West Godavari districts.The East Godavari district will continue to be the center of Rajahmundry and the West Godavari district the center of Bhimavaram.
